Leaf Upholstery Corp. ("Leaf Upholstery", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.leafupholstery.com and in the course of providing furniture reupholstery and repair services, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, address, a description of your furniture, and any photos you upload. If you become a customer we also keep records of the work performed, invoices, and our correspondence with you.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical data when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies used by our website platform (Wix) and by Google Analytics and Google Search Console. It helps us understand how the site is used and keep it working properly.

Payment information. We do not collect or store credit card numbers on our website. Payments are arranged directly with you by invoice, e-transfer, or in person.

How we use it

We use your information to prepare quotes and respond to your enquiries, schedule pickup, delivery and on-site work, complete and invoice the job, follow up on work we have done for you, and keep the records that Canadian tax and business law require. We may also use aggregated, non-identifying website statistics to improve the site.

We will only send you marketing email if you have asked for it, and every such message will include a way to unsubscribe, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Replying to your quote request or contacting you about a job in progress is not marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business and who are bound to protect it: Wix.com Ltd., which hosts our website and stores form submissions; Google, which provides our analytics, email and advertising tools; and, where a job requires it, a delivery or trade partner who needs your address to complete the work. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. While it is there, it may be accessible to the authorities of those countries under their laws.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features and our visitor statistics may be affected.

How long we keep it

Quote requests that do not become jobs are deleted within 24 months. Customer and job records are kept for seven years after the work is completed, which is the period required for Canadian tax purposes, and then securely deleted.

Security

Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on Wix's secured systems. Access to customer information within Leaf Upholstery is limited to the people who need it to do your job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may also withdraw consent to any use that is not necessary to complete work you have asked for. To make a request, email us at the address below; we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Our services are for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 19.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
